Teaching Strategies GOLD
The PSESD Early Learning program requires ongoing assessment to identify the unique strengths and needs of each child in order to plan and individualize an appropriate curriculum. The Teaching Strategies GOLD online assessment system provides for the observational assessment of all areas of children's development and learning. Teachers collect observations and work samples in GOLD in order to get to know the children in their classroom. Each documented observation must be entered in the corresponding Preliminary Checkpoint Levels for each relevant objective. Collecting and analyzing this data is key to the accurate determination of the Finalized Checkpoint Levels each quarter. Finalized Checkpoints are due each quarter: by November 15, February 15, May 15, and August 15 (for full-year programs).
